Counselling Young People

Counselling can be a bit of a scary word. And I guess you’re reading this because someone has suggested that counselling might help you, or maybe you’re thinking about it for yourself.

I can highly recommend it! Seriously. It does require you to be courageous and brave and honest and open – but in a safe environment and with a safe person.

As the adult, I take responsibility for the session but it’s your life we’re talking about. Your stuff.

We’ll work together with the issues you bring and I will be completely respectful of you and help you feel relaxed.

Sometimes we think our stuff is is too small, too big, too silly, too shameful or too odd; we continue to struggle to get through it or find a way out. But we get stuck. Counselling can help you come out the other side; stronger and more confident.

It's Confidential

I will only share information with others if I feel you, or someone else is at risk of significant harm. Maybe your parents will drop you off and pick you up. Of course I’ll say 'Hi' to them if I see them, but I definitely won’t be having a chat to them about your stuff. That’s your job; when, and if you choose.

Give it a go. You have nothing to lose and maybe loads to gain.
